Jo-Anne M Geddes
Jo Geddes is the Wetlands and Environmental Water Project Officer for the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority. Jo’s passion for the environment saw her graduate with a Degree in Applied Science with honours in Botany from La Trobe University in 1999. Jo then went on to complete a Masters of Entomology with The University of Queensland in 2007. Jo has worked in the fields of Viticulture, Horticulture, Quarantine and currently Environmental Water. Jo monitors wetland response to environmental water using acoustic techniques which allows her to make management decisions for these sites. In 2016, Jo was elected President of the Australasian Chapter of Ecoacoustics which holds over 100 members. Jo’s favourite quote is by Bernie Krause – a soundscape ecologist – ‘a picture may be worth a thousand words; a soundscape is worth a thousand pictures’.
